Back

Searching by nutrient produces a report which lists the values for a selected nutrient. The sort order will appear in descending or ascending order based on the amount of that nutrient in a reasonable portion size of each food specified in the search. Only foods which have a value for that nutrient in the database will appear in the report.

Step 1| Step 2| Step 3| Step 4| Step 5| Step 6

Step 1

Select from the drop down list the nutrient for which information is required.

Step 2

Indicate the foods for which you want this nutrient report to be created by choosing, "All foods in the database" or by selecting one CNF group from the drop down list.

Step 3

Indicate whether you want the report to sort in descending order of nutrient value per reasonable portion of the food, or indicate ascending order to obtain those foods which contain the least of amount of this component.

Step 4

How many foods do you want to be included in the report. i.e., The top 10 food sources, 100, 500 etc. for the foods that contain the most of that nutrient per portion.

Step 5

Do you want to include foods for which the value of the nutrient is equal to zero or foods where the content is in trace (tr) amounts? Including these can add many unnecessary pages to your printout.

Step 6

Run the report

You can either print the resulting report or export it as an Excel spreadsheet. You can also see the whole nutrient profile for a food in the report by clicking on the foodname.
